Introduction ^

My.HomeRoutines is the free sync service and editing website for users of the HomeRoutines app.  When you register, and log in with the same account on multiple devices, the HomeRoutines data on those devices will stay in sync with one another. Both the list content, and the completion stars, will stay in sync.  You can also visit and log into the new website at http://my.homeroutines.com, and edit your routines online. You can also use the website to back up your data, and restore backups.

(You do not have to use these features if you don’t want to… the app will continue working fine without them, as your data is all stored locally too)

All the tools related to this feature are found by tapping My.HomeRoutines on the home screen, underneath All Zones.

Where is the data stored? ^

• Your data is simultaneously stored on the web server and on your phone. You can always see your lists, whether you’ve got an internet connection available or not.

Registering ^

You need to use your Home Routines app to register.

A word of advice: When you register for My.Homeroutines, your data is copied onto the My.HomeRoutines server to enable syncing across all your devices.  It’s important that you register using your main copy of HomeRoutines, so you get your best copy of your data on the server.  (You don’t want to register with a barely-touched version of HomeRoutines and then sync all that default data back down over your good copy.  That would suck for all of us.)

1. Tap My.HomeRoutines on the homescreen
2. Tap Register
   
3. Enter your details: a user name, your first and last names, your email address, and a password.
   (The surname is not required, and we don’t mind if you use your real name or not)
4. Tap the Register button at the bottom of the screen.
   
5. We will send you an email to check your email address works!
   Click the link in the email to confirm your address. You will then be able to log in.

Log in to My.HomeRoutines ^

Logging in to My.HomeRoutines connects your device to the My.HomeRoutines server so that it can sync with other devices and the My.Homeroutines.com editing website.

1. Tap My.HomeRoutines on the homescreen
2. Tap Log in
   
3. If you just registered on this device, your user name and password will already be filled in. Otherwise, type them in here now.
4. Tap the Log in button at the bottom of the screen.
   

You will stay logged in on this device, and keep syncing with the My.Homeroutines server, until you log out.

Log Out ^

1. Tap My.HomeRoutines on the homescreen
2. Tap Log out at the bottom of the screen
   
   Your data is still on your phone and will stay there. When you log in again as the same account, any changes you have made in the meantime will be synced to your online account.

Using HomeRoutines on more than one device ^

1. Register using your best setup version of HomeRoutines.
2. Log in using the same user name and password on any other device.
   All the lists will then stay in sync.

Sharing a My.HomeRoutines Account ^

1. Log in using the same user name and password on another device.
   All the lists will then stay in sync.

Syncing your data ^

Your data will be automatically synced every 60 seconds, only while you are using the app.  There will be one additional sync when you close the app. This transfers only a small amount of data.
If HomeRoutines is running in the background, or your phone is locked or sleeping, it will not be syncing. You need an internet connection to sync.

If you want to, you can force a sync (but you shouldn’t have to!)

1. Tap My.HomeRoutines on the homescreen
2. Tap Sync Now.
